Cache runs entirely on your iPhone. It has no servers, no analytics, no accounts, and no network calls. Nothing you do in the app leaves your device. There is nowhere for it to go.
What Cache reads
With your permission, Cache reads the screenshots in your photo library so it can show and organize them. It asks iOS only for screenshots, and it reads them where they already live. It never copies them anywhere else.
What Cache stores
Everything below is written to your device's private app storage, and nowhere else:
- The category assigned to each screenshot, and whether you confirmed it
- Text recognized in each screenshot, used for search
- Image embeddings used to compare screenshots to each other
- Collections you create, and which screenshots are in them
- Corrections you make, so your categories improve over time
Deleting the app deletes all of it. Cache never modifies or deletes your photos.
What Cache sends
Nothing. Cache makes no network requests. Text recognition uses Apple Vision, and categorization uses Apple Intelligence together with a model bundled inside the app. All of it runs on the device's own processor. There are no API keys in the app because there is no API to call.
Third parties
There are none. No analytics SDK, no crash reporter, no advertising identifier, no third-party services of any kind.
Children
Cache collects no personal information from anyone, including children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
